RO-gruppen, Elgiganten

Climate Savings in Store Renovation We have carried out a renovation of Elgiganten in Uddevalla, where through effective project management and good collaboration, we have not only shortened the construction time but also suggested and then used more environmentally friendly building materials. The project involved reducing the store area of Elgiganten from 3,700 sqm to 2,200 sqm. The remaining part was completely renovated with new walls, paint, new interior, and new lighting with extensive control to make it as energy-efficient as possible. In addition to the above, a 60-meter-long and 7-meter-high wall was built. Our project manager suggested replacing the drywall specified in the project with a board made from recycled waste from the manufacturer RECOMA. The board was more expensive than the drywall, but the gain was approximately an 85% reduction in carbon footprint. Both sides of the wall were covered with these boards, totaling an area of 840 square meters. The store had its reopening in November.
